Panna National Park

Panna Tiger Reserve:- Panna Tiger Reserve is located in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh and Panna National Park located in Chhatarpur district of India. In 1981 it has been declared as a wildlife sanctuary. Panna Tiger Reserve is the 22nd tiger reserve in India and the 5th tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh. Panna Tiger Reserve is located in the Vindhachal mountain range and extends from Panna district to Chhatarpur district in the north of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Diamond Mines

Diamond Mines:- India's largest diamond mine is present in Panna. Which is a large group of diamonds, on a branch of the Vindhachal mountain range, up to 240 km in the north-east. The only organized product of diamond in India is from the Mazagon mine located in Panna. India used to be the only source of diamonds for more than 3000 years. Then there were no diamond deposits in Brazil and South Africa. Excavations are going on continuously since the 17th century from the mines located in Panna. The mining of diamonds is done by the National Mineral Development Corporation.

Ken Gharial Sanctuary

Ken Sanctuary:- Ken Sanctuary is a famous place near Khujraho in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Where this sanctuary has been established to save the gharials from the country. The 45 km long river flows in the area of Ken Gharial Sanctuary. The Ken Sanctuary is located near the city of Panna. Due to being surrounded by dense forests and colorful igneous rocks, its beauty becomes even more four fold. Two rivers Khudar and Ken river meet in Ken Gharial Sanctuary.

Pandav Fall and Caves

Pandav Falls and Pandav Caves are located in Panna city of Madhya Pradesh. This place is a beautiful place located in the Panna Tiger Reserve forest area. This place is comprised of natural, historical and religious places. There is a beautiful waterfall here. The height of Pandav Falls is 30 meters. The view here is very picturesque during the rainy season. This area is very important from the point of view of biodiversity. Many medicinal plants are found here. Which is very important for human life.

Brihaspati Kund

मध्य प्रदेश के पन्ना जिले के मे स्थित कालिंजर किले के पास मे बृहस्पति कुंड है जो कि पहाडी खेडा गांव से 6KM दूरी स्थित है। बृहस्पति कुंड का सीधा सम्बन्ध देव गुरु बृहस्पति से हैं जिन्होने इसी स्थान पर अपने आश्रम की स्थापना किया और यहा यज्ञ भी किया करते थे। ऋतायुग मे श्रीराम बनबास, के समय, इसी स्थान पर अनेक ऋषि मुनियो से मिलने के लिए आये थे। बृहस्पति कुंड मे बधिन नदी की घाटी और झरने का सुन्दर नजारा देखने को मिलता है।

Raneh Falls

Raneh Falls is a natural waterfall located in the Ken river in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh state of India. The Ken River forms a 3 mil long and 98 ft deep canyon, which is made of pure crystalline granite in shades of red and pink and gray. Many waterfalls are formed in this Raneh Falls in the rainy season, this waterfall is not perennial. Raneh Falls is a waterfall located in the Ken Sanctuary. There are deep and narrow valleys made up of abundant granite and dolomite igneous rocks.

Padmavati Devi Temple

It is located on the north west corner near Kilkila river and it is believed to be very old temple. The religious and historical importance of this temple is immense under the belief that goddess padmavati, who was still alive and protector the prosperity and happiness of Panna. Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundela accept it as his Raj Lakshami although their kuldevi is Vindhyavasani.

Jugal Kishor Ji Temple

मध्य प्रदेश के पन्ना जिले मे स्थित जुगल किशोर जी मंदिर का निर्माण बुन्देलखण्ड राज्य के चौथे शासक हिंदूपत सिंह मे अपने शासनकाल के समय सन् 1758 से 1778 तक किया गया था कहाँ जाता है कि जुगल किशोर जी की मूर्ति जो गर्भगृह में रखी है उसे ओरछा के रास्ते इसे वृन्दावन से पन्ना जिले लाया गया था। भगवान जुगल किशोर जी के श्रृंगार मे जो आभूषण और पोशाक का उपयोग किया जाता है वो सभी बुंदेलखंडी शैली को दर्शाते है। भगवान जगुल किशोर जी की मुरली मे लाखो के हीरे जड़े हुए है।रत है।

Baldeoji Temple

बलदेव जी का मंदिर मध्य प्रदेश के पन्ना जिले मे स्थित है, यह बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध मंदिर है। इस मंदिर में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के बड़े भाई प्रभु बलदेव जी की भव्य प्रतिमा विराजमान है। भगवान बलदेव जी की प्रतिमा शालिग्राम की शिला से बनी हुई है। यह मंदिर सभी हिंदु धर्म के मंदिर से अलग है, इस मंदिर का डिजाइन रोमन कैथोलिक स्टाइल मे है जो कि दूर से देखने पर चर्च के समान लगता है इस मंदिर परिसर मे ऊँचे उचे पिलर है जिसकी भव्यता देखते ही बनती है

Beni Sagar Lake

बेनीसागर झील मध्यप्रदेश के पन्ना सिटी के बीचो बीच मे स्थित एक सुन्दर पर्यटन स्थल है। बेनीसागर झील पन्ना शहर की एक सुंदर झील है। यह झील पन्ना शहर के बीचो बीच में स्थित है। यह झील पन्ना शहर में बस स्टैंड के पास में स्थित है। बेनीसागर झील का सुन्दर नाजारा अदभूत है। झील के किनारो पर बहुत सुन्दर मन्दिर बने हुए है। यहां पर, हनुमान मन्दिर, दुर्गा मन्दिर व शनि मन्दिर के दर्शन करने को आपको मिलता है। बेनीसागर झील बहुत दूर तक फैला हुआ है।

Jain Temple

However, the chief temple has statues of three Tirthankaras- Shantinath, Kunthnath and Arahanath, each measuring 10 to 15 feet in height, speculated to also have been built in the 11th century.

Sri Mahamati Prannathji Temple

The place where the peripatetic sage Mahamati Prannath and his disciples, who on reaching Panna realized the message of the awakening of one's soul. Constructed in 1692, this structure is inspired from both Hindu and Muslim architectural styles and beliefs.

Ajaigarh Fort

Ajaigarh or Ajaygarh Fort is listed among the top attractions of the region. It stands alone on a hilltop in the district of Panna and is easily accessible from Khajuraho. The fort is bordered by beautiful Vindhya Hills and provides absolutely stunning views of the Ken River. This grand fort is noted for its rich historical past and architectural beauty, which speaks volumes about the Chandela dynasty.

Dundhwa Seha Falls

Dundhwa Falls, one of the famous tourist spots, is located inside the Panna National Park. The falls are surrounded by thick vegetation and serve as a relaxing point for tourists while exploring the forest during jungle safaris. Various lodges and resorts in the region organise elephant rides apart from jeep safari which are the best way to reach these beautiful water falls.

Siddhnath Aashram (सिद्धनाथ आश्रम)

Siddhnath Aashram (सिद्धनाथ आश्रम) | श्रीराम और अगस्त मुनि का मिलन स्थल मध्य प्रदेश के पन्ना जिले में स्थित सिद्धनाथ आश्रम वह स्थान है. जहां वनवास पर निकले प्रभु श्रीराम की मुलाकात अगस्त्य मुनि से हुई थी. इस आश्रम में राम ने लंबा समय बिताया था. इस आश्रम में आज भी भगवान राम से जुड़ी कई निशानियां मौजूद है. भव्य और अनूठे मन्दिरों के लिए प्रसिद्ध पन्ना जिले में हर तरफ इतिहास विखरा पड़ा है। प्राकृतिक मनोरम स्थलों की तो यहां पूरी श्रंखला है फिर भी इस इलाके में सैलानी नजर नहीं आते। पर्यटन विकास की अनगिनत खूबियों के बावजूद इस क्षेत्र को विकसित नहीं किया गया। यदि इस अंचल की धरोहरों को सहेजकर उन्हें पर्यटन के नक्शे पर लाया जाय तो यहां रोजगार के नये अवसर सृजित हो सकते हैं। सैलानियों को आकर्षित करने के लिए यहां पर छठवीं शताब्दी से लेकर ग्यारहवीं शताब्दी तक के अनूठे मन्दिर मौजूद हैं। इन मन्दिरों की स्थापत्य कला देखते ही बनती है। पन्ना जिले का सिद्धनाथ मन्दिर उनमें से एक है जिसकी शिल्पकला किसी भी मायने में खजुराहो से कम नहीं है. उल्लेखनीय है कि जिला मुख्यालय पन्ना से लगभग 60 किमी. दूर स्थित यह अनूठा स्थल अगस्त मुनि आश्रम के नाम से विख्यात है. इस पूरे परिक्षेत्र में प्राचीन मन्दिरों व दुर्लभ प्रतिमाओं के अवशेष जहां - तहां बिखरे पड़े हैं, जिन्हें संरक्षित करने के लिए आज तक कोई पहल नहीं हुई. पन्ना जिले के सिद्धनाथ मन्दिर की शिल्प कला देखने योग्य है, ऊंची पहाडिय़ों से घिरे गुडने नदी के किनारे स्थित इस स्थान पर कभी मन्दिरों की पूरी श्रंखला रही होगी. मन्दिरों के दूर - दूर तक बिखरे पड़े अवशेष तथा बेजोड़ नक्कासी से अलंकृत शिलायें, यहां हर तरफ दिखाई देती है. जिससे प्रतीत होता है कि यहां कभी विशाल मन्दिर रहे होंगे. मौजूदा समय उस काल का यहां पर सिर्फ एक मन्दिर मौजूद है जिसे सिद्धनाथ मन्दिर के नाम से जाना जाता है. पुराविदों का कहना है कि सलेहा के आसपास लगभग 15 किमी. के दायरे वाला क्षेत्र पुरातात्विक दृष्टि से अत्यधिक महत्वपूर्ण है. इसी क्षेत्र में नचने नामक स्थान भी है यहां पर गुप्त कालीन मन्दिर है.

Tendughat Dam

Tendughat Dam is a huge dam built by the Panna Water Resources Department on the Ken river. This dam is situated at a distance of 105 km from the headquarter of Panna district near Padarha village of Shahnagar tehsil. The length of this dam is 806 meters and the height is 37 meters. The water holding capacity of this dam is 124.80 million cubic meters. With its construction, 25,000 hectares of land will be irrigated easily. Through this Tendughat Dam, 83 villages of Powai and Gunaur districts will be benefitted.

Maa Vaishnav Devi Dhaam

Maa Vaishno Devi Dhaam is a very beautiful Dhaam, located in Karondiya Village, it is 15 kms away from Katni on Panna road. Its best place for picnic and family outing.

Choumukhnath Mandir

Choumukhnath Mandir (चौमुखनाथ मंदिर) पन्ना जिले के सलेहा में स्थित है भोलेनाथ की दुर्लभ चतुर्भुज प्रतिमा, 5वीं सदी का बताया जा रहा मंदिर. एक ही मूर्ति में दूल्हा, अर्धनारीश्वर और समाधि में लीन शिव के होते हैं दर्शन ैसे तो अपनी-अपनी जगह सभी शिव मंदिरों का महत्व है लेकिन सलेहा क्षेत्र के नचने का (Chaumukh Nath Mandir) चौमुख नाथ महादेव मंदिर (Chaumukh Nath Shiva Temple) का इतिहास ही अनोखा है। कहते है अति प्राचीन इस मंदिर में भगवान शिव के चार मुख वाली प्रतिमा स्थापित है। प्रतिमा का हर मुख अलग-अलग रूप वाला है। इस मंदिर के नीचे आज भी मौजूद है चमत्कारी मणि, एक रात में बना था देवतालाब का शिव मंदिर.

Maa Kalehi Mandir

विंध्य पर्वत श्रृंखला की तलहटी में बसे पन्ना जिले की पवई का नाम जुबान पर आता है, तो जेहन में दिव्य शक्ति मां कलेही का दिव्य दर्शन सामने आता है। वैसे तो शक्ति स्वरूपा नारायणी के अनेक रूप है, दुर्गा सप्तशती में वर्णित नव-दैवियों में मां कलेही सप्तम देवी कालरात्रि ही हैं। अष्टभुजाओं में शंख, चक्र, गदा, तलवार तथा त्रिशूल उनके आठों हाथों में है। पैर के नीचे भगवान शिव हैं, उनके दायं भाग में हनुमान जी तथा बायं भाग में बटुक भैरव विराजमान हैं। मां हाथ में भाला लिये महिषासुर का वध कर रही हैं। यह विलक्षण प्रतिमा साढ़े तेरह सौ वर्ष पुरानी है, जिसकी स्थापना विक्रम संवत् सात सौ में हुई थी।

Chanda Silver Fall, Pawai

पवई क्षेत्र में बारिश के बाद चांदा घाटी में चारों ओर हरियाली ही हरियाली दिखाई देने लगी है। झमाझम बारिश के बाद जंगलों से बहकर पानी आने से सिल्वर फाल में भी झमाझम पानी गिरना शुरू हो गया। वाटर फाल शुरू होने के बाद पहाड़ी का सौंदर्य देखते ही बनता है। फाल देखने के लिए प्रतिदिन सैकड़ों की संख्या में लोग पहुंच रहे हैं। फाल के आसपास का पूरा क्षेत्र पिकनिक स्पॉट में बदल गया है। आसपास के लोग पिकनिक मनाने यहां काफी संख्या में पहुंचने लगे हैं। ये दृश्य देखकर किसी भी पर्यटक की नजरें ही नहीं हट पा रही हैं। हर तरफ हरियाली ही हरियाली बता दें कि, चांदा घाटी का नजारा किसी पर्यटन स्थल से कम नहीं है। पहाड़ी पर जहां देखो वहां तक हरियाली ही हरियाली दिखाई देती है। प्रकृति के इस अनुपम सौंदर्य को निहारने प्रतिदिन बड़ी संख्या में आसपास के लोग पहुंचने लगे हैं। यहां दिनभरपिकनिक मनाने वालों का जमावड़ा लगा रहता है। यही पर बाबा झूलनशाह की दरगाह भी है। जहां हर शुक्रवार सैकड़ों की संख्या में लोग पहुंचते हैं। चांदी जैसे सफेद पानी के कारण पड़ा नाम स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया फाल के कुंड में करीब 300 फीट की ऊंचाई से पानी गिरता है। इस दौरान काफी ऊंचाई से गिरता हुआ पानी दूध और चांदी जैसा सफेद दिखता है। इसी कारण से इसको सिल्वर फाल का नाम दिया गया है। नामकरण किसने किया यह तो पता नहीं है, लेकिन लोग एक दूसरे से सुनते-सुनते कहने लगे। अब तो जिले के लोगों के बीच यह काफी पापुलर नाम है। उक्त फाल कटनी-पन्ना मार्ग में पवई से करीब 12 किमी. दूर है।

Situated in the outskirts of the Panna City in the Purana Panna area is the beautiful Kaua Seha waterfalls on the Kilkila River. This place is a heaven for Nature Lovers as you can't stop looking at the beauty of the valley and the waterfall. Here you can also see animals like Peacock, Monkeys,Vultures, Deers, and a wide variety of Birds and much more. But there are chances of encountering Beer, giant Spiders, and Leapords too. So you must visit here in groups and be careful. This is a great place for the Adventure Lovers too as here you can experience trekking and mountain climbing. Some groups of such adventure lovers have recently discovered their own ways to go down into the valley and see the beauty from there.

Sita Rasoi

This is what locals call this beautiful temple now lying in ruins in DEVPARVAT near Ajaygarh of Panna district. This name traces its origin from the legend of Shri Ram who visited DEVPARVAT during his exile. No one actually knows about the existence of this archeological gem. And finding it gives me a sense of discovery. I don't know if Archeological survey of India is aware of this Pre Chandela Era temple lying in absolute ignorance. But the condition in which it is lying there inspite of it being connected to Shri Ram is really heartbreaking and also this place is not connected to the Ram Van Gaman Marg circuit that is under development in the Panna district. This temple is situated in a place which is extremely hard to reach and that is why it is in a kind of isolation waiting to be recognised and preserved.

Panna from the time immemorial has always been a very holy land that has witnessed every phase of history, from the rock paintings to the Gupta Era temples, from Chandelas to the bundelas and from pauranik legends to the ancient Hindu epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Many of these places are well known like the Pandav falls where the Pandavas are believed to have spend a part of their exile and places like Sarang and Augustya muni ashram that are part of Ram Van gaman Marg. But some places are hidden and lost to the sands of time waiting to be recognised. One such place is DEVPARVAT. This place has Rock paintings, many Rock cut Shelters and caves and some pauranik and Ramayana legends associated with it. According to the pauranik and local legends, this place was the seat of meditation of Devyani the daughter of Rishi shukracharya, the Guru of demons. The saptarishis are also said to have meditated at this place. This place is also considered to be on the Ram Van Gaman Marg. Also we have found here a Pre Chandela Era Temple, yes a temple older than the Temples of Khajuraho that needs immediate conservation and protection. Stopping here due to word count limit. Shri Heera ju

Panna - Where the ancient coexists with and overshadows the modern. You might have seen this giant mausoleum near the new collectorate building but do you know whom does it belongs to. This I was able to identify with the help of another place of importance situated near by this mausoleum. As per some literary sources this is the mausoleum of SHRI HEERA JU. He would have been a very prominent personality of the city because the size of this one is really big. But today not even his name is remembered when someone sees this mausoleum. Still it stands high today and catches the attention of the people passing by. These types of funerary structures are found all around the city and are in a very poor condition. This one being located just beside the new collectorate building has been renovated to a better condition few years ago. But before this when the collectorate was not here the condition of this was also poor which you can see in the 4 slides. There are more funerary structures nearby this one, dating back to a very old time visible in the fifth and sixth slides.

Kamlabai ka Makbara

Just beside the Kamlabai Taal in the Panna Bypass Road Stands the mausoleum of Kamlabai. This one and the Queen's mausoleum near Dharam Sagar are most probably the only 2 mausoleums of female personalities in the City. And interestingly they both share similarities in their architecture which is unique and different from other mausoleums in the City. But the condition of this mausoleum is even worse.

The Queen's Mausoleum (रानी की समाधि)

Just beside the giant mausoleum of the king stands the mausoleum/cenotaph of his queen too. The architectural features of this mausoleum are quite different from that of other mausoleums in the City. Maybe because it is of a Queen. But one thing it has in common with all the other mausoleums in the City and unfortunately it is the poor and dilapidated condition in which they stand today.

The Giant Mausoleum (विशालकाय समाधि), Dharam Sagar

This mausoleum/cenotaph situated on pahad koti in the northeastern side of Dharam Sagar lake is Panna's biggest mausoleum in size and also the most beautiful one. It belongs to either HirdeShah, the first king of the Panna state and the son of maharaja chhatrasal Or Sabha Singh , the second King of Panna State and the son of HirdeShah. The ASI (Archaeological Society of India )Board present here describes it as the mausoleum of Maharaja Hirdeshah. But the books written on Panna describe it as that of Maharaja Sabha Singh. Of Whoever it might be but one thing is for sure that architecturally its beauty is marvelous and it needs to be preserved.

The Chaubisdari Makbara

This is the name which I think best suits this monument because this mausoleum has chaubis(24) darwaazas(gates). Situated behind the Queen's mausoleum on pahad koti this mausoleum is quite hidden and is not easily visible because of its small size and also as it is surrounded by houses from almost all sides. But maybe these reasons are also responsible for it being in a really good condition as compared to other mausoleums in the City. The plan of this mausoleum is octagonal with three gates on each side. And it has 6 gates in the inner chamber connecting to the outer portion.
